Well, if you’re digital, then names mean everything right now.
I’ve seen them all: new media, interactive, online, digital, online interactive, the dark arts. Well, perhaps not that last one, at least not just yet.
And none of them have really captured what it is all about. Now digital is the latest name to take root. It’s not great, being that it’s the opposite of analogue. And it doesn’t really describe the industry, the channel or the media.
So it’s time for a new name. Or maybe two.
I’m suggesting ‘advertising’ if it aims to sell something. Or ‘entertainment’ if it’s simply there to entertain.
